The Corporate Communications Manager for the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas), Mr. Alfred Ogbamey has admitted an increase in the generational cost of gas supply to the Aboadze Power Plant but says it will be at the expense of the Volta River Authority (VRA).
The increase in the generational cost at the Aboadze Power Plant as the cut down in gas supply by Tullow Ghana Limited commence will lead to a corresponding increase in the price index which is used in determining the price of electricity he stated on “Enne Ghana”.
He quickly added that the effect will not be immediately transferred to the customer, it only affects the Volta River Authority (VRA) and not the consumer.
The cut down will take place for just three weeks starting from today 1st to 21st November, 2016.
He concluded that the short period of the process will not cause power outages and hence urged Ghanaians to stay calm.
