Three of the royal ruling Houses of Gbese paramountcy responsible for providing substantive chiefs for the Gbese traditional stool has stated clearly that Tommy Okine otherwise known as Nii Ayi Bonte is not a recognized and installed chief in the Ga Gbese kingdom of Accra.
According to them, he (Tommy) used a mandamus application to compel the Ga Traditional Council to process his chieftaincy declaration title through the Greater Accra Regional House of chiefs.
The three houses led by Nii Teiko Akorsoku IV, the Gbese Djase made this claims at a press conference organized in Accra.
He explained that it came as no surprise to the royal ruling Houses, when Tommy Okine at a public gathering announced that he will abdicate if Mahama loses the elections.
‘For all this while, Tommy Okine knew he was not the rightful person to ascend the Gbese throne and was doing so by virtue of the support he earns from some friends of his who were in the NDC government.
He added at the time of taking the form for the mandamus there was even a sitting Mantse but he persuaded the lawyer Justice E K Mensah to grant him the form.
‘ Tommy Okine cleverly failed to notify Nii Okaidja 111, the rightful person to the Gbese throne of the pending mandamus
application knowing that if he had noticed he would have gone to the court to prevent it from being carried out.
The said order is being challenged in the law courts but Tommy Okine still goes about handling himself as such
We hereby issuing him a seven day ultimatum from today to do what he himself offered to do or we shall advice ourselves “
