Ex-Ghana Black Stars defender Sam Johnson has stated that the Black Stars will struggle against Egypt in the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt without maestro Asamoah Gyan.
The 30-year-old has been ruled out of the squad due to injury. The Al- Ahly star is expected to be on the shelf for an extended period of time after picking his latest setback.
The former defender fears the absence of former Sunderland striker could cause the teams failure.
“It is very sad, I think is going to be a big blow for us, Asamoah Gyan has been our goal scorer and we know he can get goals on a good day. It is a bad news for us. This is a crucial game and we need a player like Asamoah Gyan. It is very unfortunate we will be missing his good works on the field, but let’s hope for the best.”
Asamoah Gyan is so far the current goal king in the history of Ghana Black Stars with 48 goals.
