The second round of the Ghana Premier League may be re structured for the Presidents cup if the need be, Premier League Board spokesperson Tamimu Issah has said.
According to him, the league officially commences on May 28 but organizers might re consider the decision to favor the president’s cup even though no formal communications has been received from the organizers of the Ghana @60 match.
Mr Tamimu Issah added that, the board can only make a fair assessment on the ongoing Ghana premier league after the league has finally come to an end but thinks the first round ended very well.
He said this in an interview with Paul Agyemang of Top Sports on Top FM that the first round of the league ended very successfully without violence in the various league centers. “If you can play first fifteen matches without violence then you can say it ended well” he said.
He applauded supporters for comporting themselves during the league which contributed to the success of the tournament. He said, “Officiating was not 100% but still the supporters were calm and they need a credit for that”
According to Him, the competitive level of the premiere league is very strong and in terms of organization too was very good because there were no changes in the fixtures from day one to day fifteen apart from the week thirteen match between Hearts and Kotoko which was being postponed because of the Ghana at 60 matches between Hearts and Kotoko.
He confirmed that the second round of the GPL will will start on the 28 of May 2017 the same day Kotoko will play Hearts in the return league of the president cup.
