Kumasi Asante Kotoko popularly known as the porcupine warriors are finally victors after 7 matches without a win in all competitions.
The Fabulous boys were hosted by Proud United at Agona Swedru in the Central region in an MTN FA Cup round of 32 game which seemed tricky due to the abysmal display in recent times by Kotoko.
The division one side, Proud United held Kotoko for many minutes in the game until Baba Mahama broke the deadlock in the 2nd half which proved to be the only goal of the game.
The results means that Kotoko has qualified to the next round of the competition and also returns to winning ways.
Steve Polark, coach and the technical head of the Porcupine Warriors believes that the team is now back on the winning ways and the victory will surely bring back the lost confidence of the Ghana giant.
The head coach believes that the psyche of the team is under control. He promised to bring his expertise and experience as a coach to bear in order to rediscover the lost confidence and form of the two times African champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 2nd round of the Ghana premier league.
Elsewhere at the Accra sports stadium, Hearts of Oak thrashed tiny Kotoku Royals, a division one side from the Eastern Region by 4:0 in a game described by many as a father and son affair
Defender of Hearts Vincent Attinga scored a brace from the spot with Kwame Kizito and Dauda Cosmos both getting on the score.
