Former president John Agyekum Kufuor stands tall among his peers under the Fourth Republic of Ghana, according to Nana Akufo-Addo.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer described the second president under the Fourth Republic as “the most outstanding”.
Ghana has experienced four leaders under the current Republic – Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Evans Atta Mills and John Mahama.
Nana Addo, who succeeded Kufuor as the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition presidential candidate, said his boss has been most outstanding and deserves all the appellations.
Nana Addo, who is hoping to be third time lucky in his bid to occupy the seat of government – the Flagstaff House – heaped the praises on Kufuor at a public lecture being addressed by his running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the state of the Ghanaian economy.
Dr. Bawumia said the economy has been declining under President Mahama and has called on Ghanaians to give Nana Addo the mandate to rescue the ailing economy.
Nana Akufo-Addo was optimistic of winning the elections as he comes face to face with his rival Mahama of the NDC.
The election is slated for December 7, 2016.
