A ceremony has been held to welcome the three persons Alistar Nelson, Godwin Ako-Gunn and Salifu Maase released from prison after being convicted by Justice Sophia Akuffo for harsh utterances against the Chief Justice.
President Mahama in consultation with the council of state exercised his prerogative of mercy powers per Article 72 of the constitution on the 22 of August to release the three.
According to a statement signed by the Minister of Communications on Monday, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said that the President had taken the decision to pardon the three on ‘compassionate grounds’ given the remorse they had demonstrated.
The three have been released and are celebrating with a ceremony at the fore court of Montie Fm.
In a welcome address by the CEO of the Network Broadcasting Company Mr Harry Zakour who doubles as the Vice Chair of the NDC, he thanked God, supporters and the president of the Republic of Ghana, President John Mahama.
“We thank you all, akpe na mi, nye yi wala d)). Last but not the least, to the man who made it possible, the president, the president, the president, JDM we thank you, we thank you, we thank you…”

Giving the closing prayer, appreciation was given to listeners and supporters at the grounds for their support since the commencement of the whole Montie 3 saga.
Praising the Lord by playing “You are Alpha, and Omega, we worship you…”, the ceremony ended.
