The Acting General Secretary of the victorious New Patriotic Party, NPP has dispelled rumors that President Elect Nana Akufo Addo pleaded to be given more time in choosing his cabinet members.
After a closed door meeting between the president elect and the National Executive Committee yesterday, news emerged that, Nana Addo asked for time in selecting ministers who will help in his government.
John Boadu in an interview with the Morning show host of Ghana Te Sen on Top FM Nana Yaa Boamponsem Ameyaw said, the meeting was closed door hence issues discussed is not for public consumption.
He said, Nana Addo never asked for more time to be given to him for the selection of his cabinet members.
According to him, it is possible for names that has popped up to be on the cabinet team of the president elect, but none of such name are suggestions from the NEC to the president elect.
Who is ready to submit such names, he quizzed.
John Boadu says that at the just ended meeting with the NEC, there was no decision to merge some of the ministries as rumors have.
There have been rumors that, the President elect will reduce the number of ministries to 19 from the current 24 in existence.
He however refuted to disclose what transpired at the meeting.
“What is meant for the public from our just ended meeting will be put in a statement for all to get and read”, he said on Ghana Te Sen.
