The Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahen has alleged that the New Patriotic Party is not partaking in the debate conducted by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) because it is a branch of the NDC.
In an interview Nana Yaa Boamponsem Ameyaw on Ghana Te Sen, he said the NCCE is a branch of the NDC and has cooked questions for President John Mahama, it is therefore of no importance for the NPP to take part in the debate.
The NCCE will today hold a debate for all the presidential aspirants of this year’s election, but it has indicated that, the presidential candidate for the NPP Nana Akufo Addo will not be part of the debate.
The NCCE explained that, several effort to make the NPP candidate join the debate proved futile.
The parties expected to participate in the debate are Progressive People’s Party (PPP), People’s National Convention (PNC), Convention People’s Party (CPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic PartY (NDP) and independent candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah.
Nana Obiri Boahen said there is no use to participate in a debate with a known result.
