The chairman for the business committee, Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has assured parliamentarians that the Head of the National Lotteries Authority will be invited to answer questions on the alleged bribe allegations levelled against them and the Finance Committee of the house.
This was indicated in a report according Yesmeen Abubakar Tetteh, Top FM’s Parliamentary Correspondent.
Legal Advisor to the NLA, David Lamptey in separate emails to the Director-General then, Brigadier General Mertin Ahiaglo (Retired) in August 2016, requested for the approval of a total sum Ȼ150,000 presumably to “push the bill for the consideration” by parliamentarians.
The then Chairman of the Finance Committee, James Klutse Avedzi admitted collecting money from the NLA but said they received only Ȼ100,000.
He, however, said the money was given to the committee members as per diem/sitting allowance contractdicting the claim by the NLA that it was used to pay for accommodation for the MPs
The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs made this statement in response to questions raised by Effutu MP Alex Afenyo Markins calling on the business committee to invite the Head of the National Lotteries Authority to appear before the house to answer questions on the said allegations.

This came to bare today on the floor of parliament when the member of parliament for Effutu, Afenyo Markins called on the business committee to invite the Head of the National Lotteries Authority to appear before the house to answer questions on the said allegations.
