Saddest moments on the field is when an officer loses his life in the process of ensuring peace, The Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Superintendent Owusuwaa Kyeremeh has said.
Recounting sad historical moments from Liberia, the once peace keeper after the war in Liberia said, recounting the lives and properties destroyed hunts every peace keeper who witnessed the incidence.
Superintendent Owusuwaa said, Police personnel are always hunted by sad occurrences on the battle fields, this goes a long way to affect them emotionally.
In a very emotional manner she said, nothing painful can be compared to losing your men on the battle field.
Remembering a personal experience on Ghana Te Sen with Nana Yaa Boamponsem Ameyaw, she said the evil caused after wars are very unpleasant and advice Ghanaians to fight for peace especially towards this election year.
She further advised that, “If you can hold a gun to defend yourself during wars, have you thought of your mother, father and siblings”.
