The Health Minister-designate, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, says he has the competence to effectively handle the ministry, if approved by Parliament.
Speaking to a private local station in his constituents in Dormaa-Ahenkro, he indicated that he would combine solid managerial and administrative skills with good inter-personal relationship to move the sector forward.
“In the Health Ministry we do not directly give injection and pills like a doctor or a nurse does in a hospital, rather we manage people whose activities are directly or indirectly linked to the work of health professionals including doctors, nurses, laboratory technologists and pharmacists.”
Mr. Agyemang-Manu said he was confident he would perform.
He was going to use his expertise and experience to help improve the quality of health of the people.
Mr. Agyemang-Manu, an accountant by profession, said he would promote team work to achieve set targets.
He defended the creation of six new ministries by President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, saying, it was a demonstration of determination, commitment and passion to see to the fulfillment of the election campaign promises made to Ghanaians.
