After a week long strike by cocoa carriers across the country, they have agreed to carry a bag of cocoa for 82 pesewas as suggested by the Cocoa Marketing Companies.
The workers who earlier refused the 20p increment from 62p to 82p later agreed after some bags of cocoa were going bad due to their strike.
A worker at the Kaase Inland Port, Atua Adongo who spoke to Top News said “the cocoa benefits all us and will benefit our future generation too, we have therefore decided to take the 82p to save us all after further deliberations with our employers”
