Coach J E Sarpong, one of Ghana’s experienced and long serving coaches has said that the division among Ghanaian coaches is the cause of poor performances by some clubs in the country.
He argued that, “how can a coach take up a team for just a day and play a match”, such a match will produce nothing than failure on the side of the team.
There is no unity among Ghanaian coaches this is disturbing the Ghanaian football, he added.
He revealed this in an interview with Nana Yaw Asare NAYAS on Top FM’s Sports Show Top Sports.
According to him, the disunity is also the major caused of coaches being sacked here and there.
Mr Sarpong said, Assistants coaches are the main factors that surrounds the sacking of main coaches for the satisfaction of their own greed.
Assistant coaches cause the downfall of main coaches in most cases in Ghana, he told Nayas.
Speaking on Ghana’s ex-coach Avram Grant he said “we have equivalent coaches right here in Ghana” but reiterated his absolute confidence in Kwesi Appiah, Coach of the Ghana Black Stars.
Mr J E Sarpong affectionately called Shapiro stated that with support from the GFA and technical team, Coach Appiah can sail through as no coach can make it without good technical team.
He advised coaches to learn more about player management as it is the best tip to become a good coach.
