The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old suspected drug dealer, Tumbana Ane, at Paga in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region and seized 38 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
A police statement released on Monday, October 5, 2026, said a search conducted at the residence of Ane led to the discovery of the 38 parcels of the substances and other prohibited drugs – Tramadol.
The police said a tunnel was discovered at the residence, which it suspected was being used by Ane to conceal the drugs and evade arrest.
