The Tema Regional Police Command has announced the interception of over 3,000 slaps of substances suspected to be narcotics at about 0010 hours in an intelligence-led operation of February 15, 2026.
The suspects had hidden the drugs in loaded in fertilizer sacks in a Sinotruck tipper truck with the registration number GN 993-14 while using the Sege Apkla Manya road in the Greater Accra Region but were intercepted by the police officers from the Regional Patrols Unit.
According to police report the driver upon sighting the police patrol team abandoned the truck and to fled the scene. The truck has currently been impounded by the police for further investigations to be carried out
In another related case, the police has arrested two suspects on February 16th at about 1910 hours for attempting to bribe officers from the Regional CID office in Tema with GHS 150,000, in an attempt to unlawfully woe officers to release the truck and narcotics.
