Toulouse Sporting Director Viktor Bezhani has dismissed reports linking Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare with a move to the Ligue 1 club, insisting there is no truth to the speculation in an exclusive response to GHANASoccernet.com.
Rumours surfaced this week claiming Toulouse were interested in signing the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper following his impressive performances for the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
However, Bezhani has categorically denied the claims.
“No truth. We are not interested in him,” the Toulouse sporting director told GHANASoccernet.com.
The brief but unequivocal response rules out any suggestion that the French club are planning a move for the 33-year-old, whose stock has risen after an impressive start to the World Cup.
Asare has been one of Ghana’s standout performers at the tournament after replacing the injured Lawrence Ati-Zigi in goal. He has kept consecutive clean sheets against Panama and England, helping the Black Stars collect four points from their opening two Group L matches.
His performances have inevitably sparked transfer speculation, with Toulouse among the clubs linked with the experienced goalkeeper.
However, Bezhani’s comments make it clear that the Ligue 1 side have no interest in signing Asare, ending speculation over a possible move to the Stadium de Toulouse.
Asare remains under contract with Hearts of Oak until June 2027 after signing a contract extension last year. He previously rejected an offer from a club in Djibouti, choosing to continue his career with the Ghanaian giants.
