The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gyan Foundation Incorporation, Mr Emmanuel Kwame Gyan, has donated to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre in the Greater Accra region.
Mr. Kwame Gyan donated some wheelchairs and an undisclosed amount of money to be given to the disabled members.
According to the CEO, this is a project of the foundation aimed at taking care of the marginalised in society and they are to fill the gap and have an impact on the disabled both the young and old as well.
He urged the private sector to help disabled people because a lot of times those people are forgotten and we don’t help them.
“The US government spends a lot of resources on the disabled and are found in every state in the America and are called the Department of Disabled, and they gear towards helping these people”.
He therefore urged the government of Ghana to take responsibility for taking care of disabled people and allocate more resources to them in society because there is a disparity in the country.
The Manager of the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Mr. Seth Dzidzornu, also, thanked the Gyan Foundation Incorporation for the tremendous effort they have made in coming to their aid to support them.
The Gyan Foundation Incorporation is a nonprofit organisation and a provider for people affected by intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families.
Its vision is to provide ‘One wheelchair, One person” at a time, especially to those who need it.
