Former Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (NCC) Chairman, Kweku Amponsah, popularly known as Chairman K5, has called on supporters of the club to give newly appointed head coach Eric Tinkler their full backing ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The South African tactician was recently appointed as the new head coach of the Porcupine Warriors as the club begins preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Tinkler has already commenced pre-season training with the squad as he works to build a competitive team ahead of the new season.
Speaking in an interview with FOX FM, Chairman K5 expressed confidence in Tinkler’s experience and understanding of African football, while stressing that the coach will need the cooperation and patience of the supporters to succeed.
“Eric Tinkler is a black coach who knows the dynamics of African football, so let’s support him, because if he fails, we the supporters are to be blamed,” he said.
Chairman K5 believes the success of the South African coach will depend not only on his technical ability but also on the unity and commitment of the club’s supporters.
Asante Kotoko will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign with an away fixture against newly promoted side Debibi United as they seek to challenge for honours under Tinkler’s leadership.
