Former Member of Parliament for the Okaikwei North constituency, Issah Fuseini has said that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs between 24 to 32 years to turn Ghana into a developed country.

He explained that the party is a party that has the capacity to address Ghana’s challenges.

With patience on the part of Ghanaians, he said, the party can developed the country to the level of the developed nations.

Speaking on TV3 New Day on Monday May 30 with host Johnnie Hughes, the he said when asked how many years the government needs to transform the country, that “…I think that we need probably 24 years, 32 years. The NPP is a party that has the capacity to fix our fundamental problems and so if Ghanaians are patient with us and they give us 32 years, we will turn Ghana into a very developed country.”

Speaking on the just-ended NPP regional elections, he said he was inspired by the speech of the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) after retaining this position.

“I heard Chairman Wontumi’s speech and was quite inspired by it. He set the tone that we are ready for the next election” he said.

Chairman Wontumi indicated his his victory speech that the governing party will definitely break the 8-year cycle in the 2024 general elections.

He said the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot stop the NPP’s plan of winning the 2024 polls.

In his victory speech on Saturday May 28 after the NPP’s Ashanti region election at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi he said “our campaign of breaking the 8 has stared from Baba Yara Stadium, NDC cannot stop us.
