The Upper East Regional Coordination Council has placed a ban on riding of motorbikes in Bawku and its environs.
The ban does not include tricycles but it affects both men and women.
The ban is as a result of the security situation and its volatile nature in Bawku and its environs.
Four people have reportedly died followed renewed shootings in Bawku in the Upper East Region.
The shooting occurred on Sunday, 23 January 2022.
Sporadic gunshots were heard around the central business area of the town.
The cause of the shooting is not immediately known.
