Residents of Ekumfi Nanabin, a community in the Ekumfi constituency or the Central region have expressed a great worry over how they have been neglected in terms of development.
The people of the community speaking to Top News’ correspondent Douglas Amponsah said they face a lot of challenges including poor mobile network connectivity, bad roads, and many others.
Communicating with friends, family and business partners is almost impossible, this affect our work seriously, a resident noted.
In an interview, the Odikro and Bamuhen of Ekumfi Nanabin, Nana Okofo Gyesi IV and Nana Obosu XIII respectively also enlightened on the challenges they are confronting which include poor network connectivity, roads, education, health, among others.
“It’s good enough to have a factory in Ekumfi Nanabin under Nana Akufo-Addo’s initiative, ‘One District, One Factory (1D1F)’ but it’s also shameful and unpleasant to have bad roads and poor network connectivity. How can the Management of Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Limited communicate to its customers?
How can the rescue team in case of emergency be of help if we even find ways and means to reach them”, they quizzed.
Reaching some of the residents, they also reiterated that the situation is affecting their social and economic lives, and even more dangerous in times of emergency.
The situation had affected teaching and learning as medical officers and teachers who are posted to the area decline staying to help.
The residents further lamented that robbers have also taken advantage of the poor road network to attack them.
They are therefore calling on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, DCE, by Mr Ebenezer Monney, MP, Mr Abeiku Crentsil and authorities it may concern to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.
