Police in the Ashanti Region have restored calm following the violent clashes between two youth factions from Asisiriwa and Brodekwano in the Bosomtwe District on Wednesday, April 8th 2026 at about 11 am.
Youth from Brodekwano were reported to have invaded Asisiriwa with deadly weapons leading to a confrontation between the two communities.
Upon receiving distress calls on the incident, officers from Kuntenase District Police Command with reinforcement from the Asokwa Divisional Police Command and the Regional Operations Unit quickly stormed the town to bring the escalating tensions under control.
Two male adults were found dead at the outskirts of the town by police officers deployed to bring calm. The two have been identified as Peterson Bonsu alias “Low Key” aged about 23-years and Kweku Opoku aged about 25 years.
Preliminary investigations suggests that the confrontation began from a dispute involving a young man from Asisiriwa reportedly living with a woman from Brodekwano without the permission of her parents.
Father of the young man named Charles Owusu was saved by police after he was attacked by some irate at Brodekwano with his Sprinter bus completely burnt in the process.
Bodies of the deceased were transported to the Jachie-Pramso Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
