Up-coming media professionals have been urged to pay close attention to the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and prepare themselves for a rapidly changing media landscape.
A Broadcast journalist with one of the leading media station Top media group groups Peter Agyen has encouraged aspiring journalists, broadcasters and other media personnel to see AI not as a threat, but as an important tool that will shape the future of the industry.
Speaking on the need for young professionals to remain relevant in the evolving media environment, he said the media industry was undergoing significant transformation as technology continued to influence how news and information were produced, distributed and consumed.
The senior journalist and entrepreneur noted that upcoming media personnel who acquire knowledge and practical skills in AI would be better positioned to adapt to emerging opportunities within the industry.
Mr. Agyen speaking to young men and women media professionals from the church of Pentecost said , AI is already becoming increasingly useful in areas such as research, content production, data analysis, transcription and audience engagement.
The call comes at a time when media organizations around the world are exploring new ways of integrating AI into their operations while maintaining professional and ethical standards. “young media practitioners to continuously upgrade their skills and remain open to technological innovation.
He said “upcoming media personnel must look at the future of the media through the lens of AI. The industry is changing, and those who prepare themselves for that change will have an advantage,” the Programme Manager advised.
He further called on media institutions and training organizations to expose students and young professionals to emerging technologies and equip them with the skills needed to navigate the future of the media industry.
