Ghana international Ernest Nuamah has vowed to give his best for Lyon after overcoming a lengthy injury spell, while expressing his determination to help his outfit achieve their objectives this season.
The 22-year-old winger has made an impressive return to action and is gradually re-establishing himself as an important figure for Lyon. This season, the 22-year-old right-winger has racked up four goals and provided an assist in nine appearances across competitions for the side.
The pacey Ghanaian was in action over the weekend when Lyon suffered a 2-1 away defeat to RC Lens in the French Ligue 1.
Nuamah started the encounter and featured for 71 minutes in the Week Six fixture at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, although his efforts were not enough to prevent his side from leaving empty-handed.
Speaking after the match, the former Nordsjælland attacker expressed relief at putting his injury troubles behind him, insisting that his focus is now firmly on contributing to Lyon’s success.
“For me, the injury is over now. It was hard to deal with, but I’m back. I’m doing everything I can to help the team. They need me. I think that’s what everyone expects, what everyone wants,” he said.
Nuamah’s return represents a boost for Lyon as they look to maintain their competitiveness in the French top flight and across other competitions.
Having already made an impact in front of goal this season, the Ghanaian winger will be eager to build on his encouraging start, remain fit and deliver consistently for the club.
His immediate priority will be to help Lyon bounce back from their defeat to Lens while continuing to demonstrate the attacking qualities that made him an exciting prospect in European football.
