Former Ghana coach Otto Addo has been appointed to FIFA’s Technical Study Group (TSG) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Addo is part of an 11-member panel assembled to provide advanced tactical and technical analysis throughout the tournament, which will be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Technical Study Group is guided by former Arsène Wenger and includes several respected football figures from across the world.
Addo will work alongside names such as Jurgen Klinsmann, Gilberto Silva, Pablo Zabaleta and Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Addo, who qualified Ghana to the World Cup but was sacked less than three months before the tournament, is the only African representative on the panel.
The group will observe all 104 matches at the tournament and identify tactical, technical and physical trends shaping modern football.
Members of the TSG will analyse games both from stadiums and FIFA’s dedicated performance centre in Miami using advanced data, video analysis and live performance metrics.

FIFA said the tournament will feature the most advanced football performance data in World Cup history through its Enhanced Football Intelligence service.
Speaking about the role of the TSG, Wenger said the group helps identify trends in football and contributes to the future development of the game globally.
The Technical Study Group will also be responsible for selecting the official tournament award winners during the World Cup.
