Mohammed Hardi Tuferi, the Member of Parliament for Nanton in the Northern Region, has been involved in an accident on his way to parliament to vote on the three (3) new tax bills.
The MP, also a deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, was said to be speeding to bolster the numbers of the majority caucus after the Minority marshalled all its MPs to the chamber ahead of a crucial vote on the government’s revenue bills.
Details on where and how the accident which left the MP severely injured are immediately unknown.
Moments after the accident, The Topnewsonline portal spotted the MP being ferried to the chamber via an ambulance to report to the leadership of the House and later sent to the hospital.
