Aggrieved tollbooth workers have converged in front of the parliament house to register their displeasure for not being reassigned after closure of tollbooths across the country on November 18.
This follows a directive by the Roads Minister Hon Kwesi Amoako Atta that the collection of road and bridge tolls at all locations nationwide should halt effective 12am on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
The Finance Minister during the 2022 budget presentation to Parliament, said the decision was to take effect after Parliament approves the budget.
Meanwhile the operators speaking to Top News has said that the decision is already having adverse impact on their lives hence their decision to lay the grievances before the parliament house.
They are protesting this morning regardless government assurance that they will be reassigned.
