The family of the Obaa Yaa Afrifa, wife of Former Head of State Lt. General Akwesi Amankwah Afrifa, has officially informed ex President J. A. Kufuor of her passing during a visit to his residence.
Born in 1934, Obaa Yaa Afrifa died in December 2025 at the age of 91.
Led by Opanin Ofori Boadu, the delegation thanked the former first man of the land for his warm reception and support so far.
The family during the visit on Tuesday also called on Ghanaians to join the Amankwah Afrifa family bid final goodbye to their beloved son, father and friend.
The final funeral ceremony is slated for Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Teshie-Nungua United Church.
