Sacking Prof Frimpong Boateng over 'fake party' comment dangerous for NPP - Nyaho-Tamakleo warns

Founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed dissatisfaction over the decision of the party to take disciplinary action against the former Minister of Environment, Science and Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, following comment he recently made describing the party as “fake”.

According to Dr. Tamakloe, the party should have invited Prof Frimpong Boateng for a discussion on the matter rather than outrightly expelling him.

“The way the leadership is handling this, if not careful, will disperse party members…We have just come out of an election where we failed nationwide. We don’t treat outstanding member like this,” Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakleo said in an interview on Joy News’ The Pulse on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

He further warned that this move by the leaders of the New Patriotic Party could be very detrimental to the organization process for future elections.

“If they are going to displace Frimpong-Boateng, very soon they may sack many others who say similar views.”
