Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas has shared the sad experience she encountered after her mobile money account was wiped clear by some scammers.
In a video posted on her SM pages on Tuesday (March 17, 2026), Joselyn explained that it all happened in a quick flash because the fraudster was very calm throughout the process making it hard for her to notice any bad intent.
According to her a link was sent to her to follow the prompts, and later she was asked to enter her decoder details and pin number which she did.
She added that at some point she began to fell suspicious about the whole transaction but the individual assured her that there were some technical challenges that had to be solved from thier side.
Joselyn Dumas also mentioned that the fraudster had enrolled her number unto some loan App called XtraPay and took loans with her number without her concerns.
“As soon as I said to him that was my number, I felt a vibration on my phone. All my money was emptied. In the process of talking to me as well, because he had my number, he was able to into my MoMo app, and he signed me up for something called XtraPay. I deposited money to send to someone, and that money was also used to pay the loan,” she recounted.
Adding more context to her experience, Joselyn Dumas advised people to be more careful as to the links they open online as well as sharing of their contact info.
She also called on digital channel operators to do more to protect the data on their clients online to curb such criminal encounters.
