Ghana’s Amerado is set to release his new 8-track EP, The Price Of Becoming, a project that reflects on the experiences, sacrifices, growth and lessons that have shaped his journey so far on 28th August 2026.
For Amerado, becoming is not just about reaching a destination. It is about everything that comes with the journey, the difficult decisions, the setbacks, the pressure, the wins, and the personal sacrifices that often go unseen. The Price Of Becoming explores those realities through a body of work that brings together different sides of his artistry.
The EP opens with its title track, “The Price Of Becoming (Mpaebor)”, produced by IzJoe Beatz. The intro sets the tone for the project, introducing the central idea behind the EP and giving listeners an insight into the mindset that runs through the music.
From there, the project moves through a blend of Highlife and Afrobeats, with songs including “Sika Mframa,” “Chacha,” “Obiaa Nte Mase,” “Fountain” featuring Nigerian artist Skales, and “Keteke.” These records showcase Amerado’s ability to move comfortably between contemporary sounds and the Ghanaian musical traditions that continue to influence his identity as an artist.
The project also gives room to two distinct sides of Amerado’s musical personality. “Return Of The Lunatic 2,”produced by ItzCJ Madeit, is a full rap record that taps into his lyrical side and serves as a reminder of the technical ability that has earned him recognition as one of Ghana’s notable rappers.
The EP closes with “Pharaoh Remix,” featuring Epixode and Ras Kuuku, produced by Shawerz Ebiem. The reggae record brings the project to a fitting conclusion, adding another layer to the EP’s diverse musical palette.
Produced by a combination of some of Ghana’s respected producers, including IzJoe Beatz, MOG Beatz, ItzCJ Madeit and Shawerz Ebiem, The Price Of Becoming moves across Highlife, Afrobeats, reggae and rap without losing the core identity of the artist at its centre.
The collaboration with Skales on “Fountain” also adds a cross-border dimension to the project, while Epixode and Ras Kuuku join Amerado on the “Pharaoh Remix,” connecting the EP to Ghana’s reggae and dancehall tradition.
At its heart, The Price Of Becoming is a reflection of Amerado’s evolution. It is a project about the road behind him and the person he is still becoming. Rather than presenting a polished version of the journey, the EP acknowledges that growth comes with a cost, and that every stage of becoming leaves something behind.
With The Price Of Becoming, Amerado invites listeners to hear the music, but also to understand the journey that made the music possible.
