David Selassie Anthony, popularly known as “De Accra Mayor” or “Dee Mayor”, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The declaration, made on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Accra, follows consultations with party members, organizers and supporters across the regions.
Speaking on his ambition, Mr. Anthony said he is contesting to serve the grassroots structures that carry the party between elections.
His campaign centers on grassroots mobilization and strengthening the role of Constituency and Regional Organizers.
“The strength of this party has never been at the top. It has always been in the constituencies,” he said.

3.Building readiness towards victory in the 2028 general elections.
“An organizer who gives the party his time should not be the last person the party remembers,” he added.
He said he will in the coming weeks outline his specific commitments on grassroots mobilization and how he intends to implement them if elected.
