Asante Kotoko have submitted a proposal to the National Sports Authority (NSA) to rent the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the entire 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, Akoma Sports has reported.
The Kumasi-based club wants to move away from the traditional game-by-game arrangement and secure full use of the stadium for their home matches throughout the season.
Under the proposal, Kotoko would take full control of the stadium on matchdays and retain revenue generated from their games, while the NSA would remain responsible for preparing the facility for matches.
The development comes as work continues at Baba Yara Stadium ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah recently inspected the stadium, including the pitch and ongoing facility upgrades, and expressed confidence that the venue will be ready to host matches when the 2026/27 campaign begins.
Kotoko have traditionally used Baba Yara Stadium as their home ground, with payments and arrangements made on a match-by-match basis.
The proposed season-long agreement would give the Porcupine Warriors greater control over the facility and their matchday operations if approved by the NSA.
The proposal will now have to be considered by the relevant authorities before any agreement is reached.
With the new Premier League season approaching, Kotoko are keen to secure a clear home-ground arrangement as they prepare for another campaign.
