Ghanaian artiste Mohammed Ismail Sherif known in showbiz circles as Black Sherif has won the Entertainment Personality of the Year award at this year’s Entertainment Achievement Awards.
He beat off competition from media personality Giovani Caleb, comedian OB Amponsah, Afrobeat artiste KiDi, highlife musician Kuami Eugene, dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, rapper Sarkodie and Ghanaian artiste based in the United States of America, Amaarae.
Last year, the award was won by comic actor Akrobeto, also known as Akwesi Boadi.
Black Sherif shot into mainstream music when he released his ‘1st Sermon’ song in 2021. He gained more prominence when he followed it up with the ‘Second Sermon’, a song that earned him a feature from Nigerian Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy.
He currently has a record deal with Empire, an American distribution company and record label headquartered in San Francisco, California.
