Chief of Gorjiase a community in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern region have called on the government to extend the provision of social amenities to help make life better in the area.
The Chief of Gorjiase Nana Kumi Mante l, lamented bitterly about the deplorable state of roads in the area, which according to him, have derailed business activities in the area.
Touching on the challenges in the area, he said that farmers even find it difficult to transport farm produce to market centres as a result of poor road networks. Nana Kumi Mante l, the chief of Area expressed disappointment in the leaders of the area over lack of progress and development in the community.
He said, they lack many social amenities in this community, their roads are in a deplorable state for the past years, no provision of street lights, and unhygienic refuse damps all over the area, no potable drinking water, the school in the community are not in good shape, no public toilet and no Clinic. Nana Kumi Mante l, bemoaned.
Speaking with Top fm reporter Nana Ama, called on the government to come to their aid with interventions to reduce the unemployment rate, adding that the Gorjiase community deserves support from the government.
He made this statement when he was installed as a chief and other 12 newly sub chiefs at Gorjiase in the Suhum Municipality.
The new installed Chief Nana Kumi Mante I promised to address sanitation problems, unemployment rate, road network, street lights and other problems. He indicated that he would support any development project that the government would extend to the Gorjiase community.
