The CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., has welcomed a delegation from the Kimberley Process community to Accra for a review visit. The visit aims to assess Ghana’s compliance with international standards for responsible diamond trade.

Ghana, a diamond-producing country, is committed to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, ensuring diamonds are conflict-free and contribute to national development. The country has implemented robust export controls, traceability systems, and verification protocols.

The review visit provides an opportunity for Ghana to showcase its progress and benefit from expert insights. Ghana is currently vice chair of the Kimberley Process and will assume chairmanship in 2027, and is committed to pragmatic leadership and inclusive dialogue.

Technical teams will provide briefings on Ghana’s diamond sector, and the delegation will engage with relevant institutions to gain a comprehensive understanding of Ghana’s operations. The visit aims to promote transparency, accountability, and responsible governance in the diamond trade.
