Highlife musician, Kwaisey Pee has said in his latest radio interview that Ghanaians are not ready to honour him for his works over the years.

Known in real life as Akwasi Poku Addae, Kwaisey Pee is one of the young legends holding the indigenous highlife music genre solid with their everyday song releases.

Speaking in an interview Top Radio 103.1 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the “Akono Yaa” composer mentioned that while most of the highlife musicians have been honoured, he has still not gotten any form of recognition from the music industry.

“I think i haven’t been celebrated as an artiste in Ghana… and that’s the reason why i have decided to celebrate myself”. Kwaisey Pee explained.

According to him even though he is not too worried about that, perhaps he will be celebrated and honored for his contributions to highlife in the near future.

Known for his soothing voice, Kwaisey has five albums to his credit and has featured artistes like Okyeame Kwame, Kontihene, K K Fosu, Yaa Yaa and Ofori Amponsah.

Kwaisey Pee will be celebrating his 25th anniversary since becoming full time musician will a tall list of activities slated for later this year.
