A University of Ghana (Legon) student, who was allegedly assaulted by singer Fameye, on the Okponglo road in 2021, has revisited the ordeal.

Aside from the reckless driving he initially accused Fameye of, Dave has now accused the musician and his team, of theft.

Taking to Twitter, he narrated that at 5:00pm on January 9, 2021, Fameye drove recklessly close to the Okponglo traffic light. He claimed that the actions of Fameye nearly swayed the passenger car (trotro) he had boarded.

He stated that the life-threatening incident infuriated all the passengers and the driver, who particularly alighted to confront the reckless driver when the light turned red.

Dave narrated that it was then that they realised that the popular Highlife artiste was on board the black Toyota Camry car with a DV plate.

He said while being confronted, all Fameye did was “smile in the front seat nonchalantly”. Dave said that single action motivated him to record the incident.

However, the men riding with Fameye beat him for doing so, Dave claimed.

Dave added that aside from assaulting him, Fameye’s men snatched his iPhone 8 and sped off the moment the traffic light turned green.

A case was subsequently filed at the Legon Police Station against Fameye, and Dave also made an online report.

Reacting to the brouhaha, Fameye posted his side of the story. He confirmed he did drive recklessly on the Okponglo road as complained by Dave.

However, contrary to Dave’s claim, Fameye said he apologised when the driver’s mate approached him.

Although the ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker admitted that a phone was seized, he claimed it was because Dave rained insults on him and his team for nearly swaying their vehicle off the road.

Fameye added that at that time, he believed the video was taken for clout purposes. This, he said, had the potential of putting a dent on the brand he’s built for himself.

In a tweet, he said he had planned on returning the phone the next day, but changed his mind when Dave allegedly recruited some keyboard warriors to verbally assault him on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Fameye did not address the assault claims levelled against him and his team.

Fameye noted that he is now ready to return the phone after almost one year and three months. However, returning the phone would be on the condition that Dave makes a video to apologize for filming the ‘superstar’.
