MMUN West Africa Chapter headquarters inaugurated in Ghana to enhance education curriculum

In a significant stride towards progressive education, the Montessori model united nations ( MMUN ) west Africa chapter officially opened its headquarters on march 11th. 2024.
Themed ” Uplifting education for Global citizens at the united nations,” the events underscored the importance of experiential and child- centred learning. aligning with the UN’s mission for global peace and cooperation.

King Nii Ayittey Oyanka I, Emissary of education for west Africa ( MMUN) into ghana’s education system will nurture young minds to become active, informed, and empathetic global citizens.

He emphasized the need for every child to experience MMUN, envisioning a transformative impact on education in Ghana.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, educators, and community leaders, education directors, reflecting a unified commitment to advancing education in west Africa.

The establishment of the MMUN west Africa chapter in Accra not only symbolizes a pivotal moment for Ghana but also heralds a broader regional impact.

As the chapter embarks on its mission to integrate the Montessori model into both public and private schools, it holds the promise of reshaping educational paradigms and fostering a generation of young minds capable of navigating the complexities of the 21st century.

The collaborative efforts of the government, MMUN officials, and the local community are poised to lay the foundation for a transformative education landscape that transcends borders and empowers the youth with knowledge and skills needed for global citizenship.

Mr. Richard Flynn, International Relations Director for MMUN west Africa, highlighted the significant enhancement the Montessori model brings to education, advocating for its widespread implementation in Africa.

He stressed the importance of each country adopting the model to ensure equal education opportunities for all children.
