President John Dramani Mahama has launched Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to guide Ghana’s foreign missions, stressing the need for accountability and measurable outcomes in diplomacy.

Speaking at the Conference for Heads of Missions and Orientation for newly appointed envoys in Accra, President Mahama urged diplomats to project Ghana’s image through economic diplomacy, integrity, professionalism, and efficiency. He emphasized that missions abroad must now operate with specific economic targets in line with the government’s Reset Agenda.

The program, hosted by Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah, was attended by Vice President H.E. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
President Mahama also underscored “Afro-Pragmatism” as the foundation of Ghana’s foreign policy, focused on advancing national interests while building constructive partnerships.
Officials say the current cohort of ambassadors and high commissioners will be among the most prepared in Ghana’s history, having undergone extensive training in economic diplomacy, international etiquette, and mission management.

The new reforms position Ghana’s diplomatic service as a key driver of trade, investment, and innovation under the Reset Ghana Agenda.
