Prez Akufo-Addo, Okyenhene to grace OPASS@60 climax durbar

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin will grace the climax of the 60th anniversary of the Ofori Panin Senior High School, Kukurantumi on November 27.

While President Akufo-Addo will be the Guest of Honour, the Okyenhene, a life patron of the school, will be the Chairman of the occasion.

Already, the 60th-anniversary planning committee has announced that an old student and currently, the Director, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon, Obaapanin Professor Dorothy Yeboah Manu, will deliver the keynote address.

A line up of activities for the celebration of the anniversary have released to include a courtesy call on Osagyefo Amoatia at his Ofori Panin Fie at Kyebi on November 22, a clean-up exercise at New Tafo-Akim Government Hospital and The Community Hospitals Limited, Kukurantumi-Akyem on November 23, and a Float through the principal streets of New Tafo-Akim and Kukurantumi, on November 24.

Also, there will be a film show for the students on November 25, with the old students of OPASS (Mpaninfo) re-uniting with a Home Coming Musical Bash at the Royal Balmes Hotel located near the Opass campus on November 26.

Earlier that day, the 1985 Year Group will hand over the completed project on the new gate to the school

The evening after the durbar, old students will unwind and reminisce with Live Musical Concert, which will have the legendary Pat Thomas and popular duo, Akatakyie thrill attendees at the Royal Balmes Hotel located near the OPASS campus.

The celebrations will be wrapped up with a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the OPASS Assembly Hall on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 8.30 am.
