Prophetess, Driver Arrested For Killing Ex- Dampong SHS Headteacher After Gold Scam (Photos)

Police in the Ashanti North Region has arrested two persons in connection with the gruesome murder of Eric Obeng Darko, the former headmaster of Dampong Senior High School in the Ashanti Region.

The suspects, 48-year-old Prophetess Elizabeth Darkwah and 38-year-old Mubarak Mohammed were picked up on June 9th and 17th respectively.

According to preliminary investigations the scam started in 2024 after Prophetess Darkwah convinced the deceased to give her some money for the purpose of using it to uncover and spiritually cleansing a stash of ancient family gold.

However, numerous attempts by the deceased to reach the Prophetess for the supposed purification ceremony did not materialize.

Police Investigations suggest that the Prophetess later conspired with Mubarak Mohammed and three others on the run to abduct and kill Mr. Darko before he could arrive at the church.

The police reports that suspects kidnapped the deceased and took to Aboabugya, when he tried to escape, he was run over with a Honda Odyssey vehicle driven by Mubarak Mohammed, leading to his death.

They have since been arraigned before the district courts in Kodie and Suame and remanded into police custody.
