A tragic accident that happened at Winneba Junction on Monday, June 23, 2025 has claimed four lives.
According to reports the accident killed one person instantly on the spot.
Three schoolchildren who were among seven pupils who were travelling from Winneba to Apam in a Hyundai Jet taxi with registration number CR 748-20 and sustained various degrees of injuries and were sent to the hospital have also been reported dead this morning raising the death toll to four.
The taxi collided head-on with a Toyota RAV4 vehicle, with registration number GN 5505-18.
The initial crash killed the taxi driver instantly. Nine others, including the schoolchildren, were rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, The Toyota RAV4 trying to avoid hitting a Sprinter bus, collided head-on with the taxi. which killed him instantly. The injured were rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.
