The chairman of mines and energy committee of Parliament and MP for Abuakwa south, Samuel Atta-Akyea has stated clearly that, the take or pay power purchase agreements has contributed to the energy sector crisis.
He explained that, the previous NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama signed several energy agreements under take or pay which were not needed and sighted AMERI deal which cost Ghana $510 million dollars is an example.
Mr Atta-Akyea used the opportunity to outline several measures taken by NPP government in making sure that Ghanaians get the cheaper price in terms of energy.
The mines and energy committee chair, made these revelations in a press conference organized by the majority members on the committee to set the record straight.
