39 prisoners from the James Camp Prison and Senior Correctional Center have graduated with National Proficiency I Certificates in garment making.
The trainees who were all inmates of the JCP were graduated in a ceremony which took place at premises of the prison on Thursday, 28th August, 2025.
Under the auspices of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, the program equiped participants in English, General Science, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship and Information and Communication Technology.
“You are not misfits, you are seeds planted in difficult soil but capable of blooming even here.”
“These skills will help you to make the most of your time and prepare you for the day when society welcomes you back”, Deputy Director of Prisons and the Greater Accra Regional Prisons Commander, Edward Fifi Acquah said during the passing out ceremony.
The programme was supported by the German Development Bank, CTVET and other state facilitators.
