Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Washington-Amoah has signed his first professional contract with Charlton Athletic FC, committing to the English club until 2028.
The 17-year-old joined Charlton’s academy at U15 level after being spotted during a Valley Gold tournament. He has since progressed through the youth ranks, featuring for both the U18 and U21 teams.
Washington-Amoah had a prior trial with Tottenham Hotspur before his move to Charlton. His performances in the FA Youth Cup further raised his profile within the club’s academy setup.
He operates primarily as a midfielder and is comfortable in both box-to-box and deeper roles. Charlton’s academy staff have noted his progress since joining the club and his ability to transition into U21 football.
The contract secures his long-term future with the League One side as he continues his development.
