Prolific Ghanaian musician and guitarist, Kwabena Kwabena known is private life as George Kwabena Adu has spoken about the recent materialism that that overtaken what is supposed to be true love in relationships.

Speaking in a radio interview on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the “Aso” hitmaker said most women see relationships as a form of investment nowadays and sees it to be a normal way of going about.

“Love has become some kind of investment… you need to be at a certain level to be able to show that you love someone”.

According to Kwabena Kwabena, even though having money has become normalized if you want to be in a relationship, it is not the right way of expressing love or affection because it does not speak love language if you are a demanding woman.

“But you see what we forget is all the love languages none of it has anything like money….we always miss the bus or we miss the boat because naturally almost everybody is doing something or working on something to make an earning, everybody earns something”.

Kwabena Kwabena, however, added that while dating an overly demanding partner is not acceptable, it is also the duty of the man to provide some form of comfort for his partner for the relationship to grow.

“I wouldn’t advice anybody to be with someone who is lazy, somebody who doesn’t want to do any work, somebody who is not earning any income… but the issue right now is we being content and we appreciating our efforts amongst each other, that’s where the issue is at,” Kwabena Kwabena said.
