New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Member, Kafui Amegah has said that the recent attack on Former Fisheries Minster, Hawa Koomson during the Ablekuma North election re-run was a planned thing by the ruling NDC government.
Recall, Hawa Koomson was physically attacked by some unknown ‘thugs’ while observing voting process at the St. Peter’s Methodist Church polling station onFriday, July 11, 2025.
Reacting to the incident on the Final Point Show on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Kafui Amegah said NDC member are referring to the attack as “balancing”.
According to him, the attack on Hawa Koomson is a reciprocal response for the 2019 Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election where some NDC member were assaulted by some heavily built men.
“A tooth for a tooth an eye for an eye…. that is Hannah Bissiw’s, their Women Organizer”.
“So it should tell you that, Hawa Koomson was one of their prime target, whether she did wrong or she did not do wrong”, Kafui Amegah added in response to Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei’s statement that she didn’t care about what happened.
Speaking about a related incident where the Deputy National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, was brutally assaulted at the St. Peter’s Polling Station in Odorkor, during the election rerun he said they would have lynched him to death if it hadn’t been the intervention of the police.
“”They wanted to lynch him to death.. for what crime? an election?” Kafui Amegah questioned.
