The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Richard Ahiagbah has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is very strong in its strongholds.
He was commenting on the results of the Kumawu byelection which took place on Tuesday, May 23.
“The impressive 63% turnout in the Kumawu bye-election suggests the NPP is as strong as ever in its stronghold,” he tweeted.
During the election, the NPP’s candidate in the Kumawu by-election Ernest Yaw Anim won.
He polled 15,264 votes to defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Kwesi Amankwah, and the two other Independent Candidates.
Kwesi Amankwah managed 3,723 votes while Kwaku Duah (1) had 2,478 votes with the other Kwaku Duah had 62 votes.
